Our Project Controls team are recruiting for an experienced Project Planner to join their team.

As the Planner you will be responsible for the planning function within the Project Controls team and acting as the Planner on one of our major programmes and help drive toward the accomplishment of defined goals and objectives.

Manage and provide the tools and systems necessary to effectively and proactively manage, control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout this major programme and across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the Programme Schedule and manage the coordination of schedules at project level assuring vertical and horizontal integration.
  • Develop and ensure consistent application of the planning process that is used to define, maintain, report and control schedules at all levels of the Programme,
  • Plan, schedules, coordinates and oversees the work of all Project Controls activities at programme level
  • Identify interfaces and establish performance measurement baselines to record and track progress on schedules. Produce progress reports showing variance against the baselines
  • Ensure the project month-end reporting process is supported and achieved by the project teams
  • Lead and motivate a team of Project Planners, ensure they have the required core competencies in the use of planning techniques. Provide presentations, coaching and facilitation in the use of Primavera software.
  • Provide expert input at planning workshops and represent time issues at programme level.
  • Apply critical path & Schedule Risk Analysis
  • Support Project Managers and Project Planners in schedule development and in managing the alignment of scope, time and cost.
  • Oversee project schedule review meetings and ensure alignment and consistency with cost management function.
  • Lead development of work breakdown structures and help insure that project coding is effectively used for all cornerstone applications.

Education/ Experience

  • Ideally degree qualified in engineering, construction, business or related field, or demonstrated equivalent and related experience.
  • Proven experience with engineering, procurement and construction project. Ideally in Major Utilities or construction arena. With operating industrial facilities is advantageous
  • Solid and provable experience with cost, schedule responsibilities and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required.

Skills

  • Knowledgeable and experienced utilising and administering Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Expert knowledge using Excel.
  • Knowledge and experience utilising Cost Management Tools (Costpoint, SAP, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
