Fabrication Supervisor

The Fabrication Supervisor is the primary repairman for the repair, maintenance, construction, and servicing of all assigned prefabricated metal structures, wooden, tentage, containers, collapsible hard and soft shelters, shower/shave, kitchen and latrine equipment and water distribution systems. Supervises fabrication of items using gas/arc welding, brazing hard and soft soldering of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and basic carpentry. Supervises and schedules the work activities of general repair work center. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS).

Principal Accountabilities

  • Performs CSC Inspections on Containers as needed.
  • Receives, inspects, stores, tests, repairs, maintains and performs operational checks on all assigned equipment items.
  • Installs, aligns, adjusts and when necessary fabricates sheet metal, wood and canvas repair and replacement items for all hard and soft shelters, containers and shower/shave, kitchen and latrine equipment.
  • Prepares and completes documentation including Work Orders and USAF Supply forms.
  • Updates historical data and coordinates action required with Work Control.
  • Develops standards for subordinates. Implements the precepts of quality assurance within the guidelines set forth in the ISO 9001 standards.
  • Ensures that all work is completed to this quality standard and provides employees with feedback on their progress.
  • Conducts on-the-job (OJT) training for his assigned staff on assigned equipment. Identifies training requirements and prepares and updates training records. In addition, trains his staff on safety, Safety Data Sheets, security awareness, and other subjects in accordance with appropriate Plans.
  • Repairs, inspects, fabricates, cleans, operates, maintains, corrosion controls, reconstitutes and prepares assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments in accordance with Maintenance Action Sheets, Technical Orders, Manuals, Checklists, Regulations, Maintenance Action Sheets, and Unit Type Code (UTC) Configuration listings.
  • Performs servicing and/or maintenance of in-use assets as required and returns the equipment to a mission capable status.
  • Prepares and submits Quality Deficiency reports, material Deficiency Reports and incorporates Technical Order Changes as required.
  • Operates Material Handling Equipment as required and when trained to do so.
  • Inspects Hazardous Materials within the assigned work center and coordinates with the appropriate office for the disposal of HAZMAT when required, conforming to WRM/USAF safety, hazardous material and quality standards.
  • Performs other tasks and duties as directed by WRM/USAF tasking.
  • Performs Temporary Duty (TDY) within the Area of Operations as required by the USAF/WRM Program tasking.
  • Coordinates the erection and construction of Bare Base Shelter systems and associated equipment to support real world exercises and contingencies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have outstanding customer service and organizational skills and be able to understand, speak, read and write English at an advanced level.
  • Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum Power Point, Excel and Word programs.
  • Must be able to read and understand technical data, measurements and engineering drawings for construction, repair of portable building facilities and operating instructions pertaining to Civil Engineering and BEAR order of Battle (BOB) assets and related equipment or similar Department of Defense Agencies Contingency Systems.
  • Must be able to obtain CSC Certification.
  • Must possess a valid home country driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation driver’s license.
  • Will be required to operate material handling equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5 years of Military or civilian experience in the field of structural/facilities maintenance required.
  • Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment.
  • Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
  • Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs. and performing extensive work handling/lifting equipment.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must have a current U.S. Passport.
