Facilities Maintenance Plumber

Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Plumber (FM Plumber) to maintain facility infrastructure and critical systems at the Joint Defense Facility Pine Gap in Alice Springs, Australia.

The position is responsible for the efficient and timely identification and completion of maintenance work tasks and ensuring high levels of service are maintained. This role also ensures that the repairs and maintenance of all equipment is done so in a manner that maximizes productivity and equipment reliability. New installations and project work are also requirements of this role.

Responsibilities include:

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on equipment as required
• Perform tasks for project type work (i.e. new installation and remodeling)
• Provide technical instruction, mentoring and training to others
• Identify, propose and contribute to the development of process improvements relevant to assigned system and equipment responsibilities
• Ensure and advocate for compliance with relevant regulations, policies and procedures
• Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing site environmental health and safety (EHS) policies and procedures; complying with applicable Work Health Safety (WHS) Act standards
• Aid in the development and review of project briefs and Statements of Work as required. Aid in the delivery of projects and new works as required. Review and update drawings
• Other duties include cleaning, organizing, material ordering, and grounds work

• Must be a US citizen and possess or have the ability to obtain a TS SCI with poly or an Australian citizen who possesses or has the ability to obtain a TSPV
• Install & repair pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems used for water distribution and wastewater disposal in commercial and industrial buildings
• Installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures
• Identify the required tools and special equipment
• Select the size and type of pipe required for the job, locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures.
• Assemble and install valves and fittings
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
• Current Drivers License
• US candidates must hold a state plumbing license
• AU candidates must hold a Cert III of Cert IV trade qualification
• 2 to 5 years experience
