Job Summary

The Project Controls Manager is required to provide the tools and systems necessary to manage effectively and proactively. As well as control, and report on cost and schedule for concurrent projects throughout the organization. The Project Controls Manager will be required to apply this expertise across a large portfolio of projects; therefore, the suitable candidate will be responsible for applying sound judgement and experience toward the accomplishment of project-defined goals and objectives

Responsibilities/Duties

Lead the development of cost and schedule management procedures and ensure they are implemented.

Plan cost and schedule metrics and tools, collecting performance data, tracking data, analysing and reporting.

Integrate cost and schedule data and reporting with the company’s accounting and management information systems to facilitate meeting company performance and financial goals.

Lead project cost and schedule review meetings.

Review performance trends, prepares analysis and cost impact and monthly project performance reports, and recommends contractor invoices for approval.

Evaluate manpower, labour hour, and labour cost requirements versus budget limitations.

Oversee the production and maintenance of accurate project schedules. Expert understanding of schedule resource loading and levelling is required.

Assist the Project Managers in budgeting and managing projects.

Develop and maintain project control systems. Assume responsibility for correct implementation.

Review and assess (as required) raw data that comes from project automated systems.

Establish and maintains customer relationships.

Serve as a key participant in customer and/or subcontractor negotiations.

Provides support to the Proposals team prior to, during and following tenders. These tasks include the drafting of a Statement of Work and Response Schedule, bid analysis, organizing project documentation, providing vendor feedback and supporting contract negotiations.

Ensure compliance with all site’s environmental health and safety requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Construction or Project Management or other relevant discipline.
  • Drivers Licence

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Construction or Project Management or other relevant discipline.
  • Certified Cost Consultant (CCC), Certified Cost Engineer (CCE), Interim Cost Consultant (ICC), Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Earned Value Professional (EVP)
  • Project management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2 etc.)
