Spectrum Manager

Amentum is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Spectrum Manager to support the global mission requirements of the United States Navy in Fort Meade, MD. If you are a motivated, detail-oriented professional looking to take your spectrum management skills to the next level, we would like to have you on our team.

The global dependence on systems using the electromagnetic spectrum is increasing which drives congestion of that environment. You will use your strong foundation in spectrum to manage the wide variety of systems used by the Navy and their associated spectrum requirements.

Day to day work will include the analysis of technical data for communication equipment/systems, radar systems, passive and active sensors, Electronic Attack, Electronic Warfare, and others systems, submitted through the coordination chain to eliminate conflicts in frequency assignments.

Specific work will focus on the review and coordination of a variety of frequency requests and taskings at the National level.

You will be responsible for reviewing, processing, and obtaining EA/EW clearances for Navy and Marine Corps units. You will utilize applicable software tools such as Builder/Giant RPM to validate EA/EW requirements are accurate and in proper format for submission to higher-level authority.

Your knowledge of radio equipment and radio propagation characteristics aids in the review and coordination of National level requirements within the United States and Possessions.

The position will provide you with a unique experience through the chance to work with systems utilizing the entirety of the radio-frequency spectrum from direct current to daylight.

You will work with minimal oversight in the coordination with appropriate federal, non-federal, military and other government officials. You will also proactively address concerns submitted through the frequency deconfliction chain and will support education, outreach, and policy review and development, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA degree or a graduate of the Interservice Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) or the Army Spectrum Management Course

  • At least 10 years of experience working with Spectrum Management

  • Active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EA/EW experience, such as

--Five plus years processing EA/EW clearance requests at the unit level

--Two plus years processing EA/EW clearance requests at the National level

--Experience using The GPS Interference and Navigation Tool (GIANT)

--Successful completion of the Joint Electronic Warfare Theater Operations Course (JEWTOC)
