Logistics Manager

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Manager for the Bluegrass Chemical Agent Destruction Pilot Plant project located in Richmond, KY.

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform all work safely and with the utmost concern for the safety of self and other employees.
  • Perform all work in compliance with environmental permits and regulations.
  • May be required to work overtime or varying hours to include shift work.
  • Be at work when scheduled and maintain a good attendance record.
  • Work in close proximity to and or in a chemical demilitarization facility.
  • Assign, supervise and direct work activities of assigned personnel.
  • Prepare and review plans, procedures and manuals for project implementation as necessary
  • Understand all applicable operational and regulatory requirements and ensure operations, deviations, and testing conforms to these requirements
  • Enforce standards and expectations for assigned personnel
  • Provide clear, concise goals and objectives, policies and procedures, priorities and constraints that must be met during operations (ie schedule, budget, personnel and equipment restraints)
  • Reinforce conduct of operations and compliance culture
  • Ensure adequate munitions and other materials are available to support operations
  • Routinely participate in management observation program and conduct operational self-assessments as necessary
  • Collect the plans from SDC1200/2000 Shift Plant Managers
  • Report facility Plans at the Plant Status meetings and ensure each facility provides input to the Daily Plant Status Update.
  • Consolidate feedback from the SDC 1200/2000 Shift Plant Managers to resolve any potential conflicts between their facilities.
  • Attend all logistics/site movement-related meetings including the Joint Munitions Transportation Team (JMTT) meeting, BGCA Mission Planning meetings, BGCA Stand-up meeting, and Mission Planning meetings.
  • Communicate facility status and site movements at both the Duty Call and the Stand-up Meeting
  • Maintain radio communication thorugh ChemNet to track all site movement activities thorughout the BGCAPP site.
  • Support plant readiness reviews, modification planning, and munitions changeover planning
  • Make timely notifications when required by plant events and procedures
  • Identify and document issues utilizing the condition reporting system and promote usage of the system with operations personnel to close out items assigned to them
  • Understand munitions receipt and loading at the Blue Grass Chemical Activity storage location
  • Understand munitions staging, loading, and feed preparation
  • Understand munitions transport, monitoring, unloading, movement, and warehousing operations
  • Support daily activities, track progress, and provide status to management
  • Perform other collateral duties as assigned for operations of project Relocation Assistance Provided.

This position is designated as an unescorted access position and is subject to the requirements of the Unescorted Access Program (UAP). As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Blue Grass Army Depot Commander.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, and at least 5 years of supervisory experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, use of information systems in logistics management or equivalent training and work experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Blue Grass Chemical Agent-Destruction Pilot Plant (BGCAPP) site access
  • Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment
  • Must maintain fitness-for-duty standards to perform the essential functions of the position, to include any depot or BGCAPP drill, contingency and/or emergency requirement
  • Possess strong organizational skills with ability to coordinate and prioritize projects, adapting to change as they occur
  • Must be detail oriented and possess ability to manage complex and varied projects
  • Must have good communication skills to provide technical assistance, presentations, and/or training to field personnel
  • Considerable knowledge of the operations field process and related activities and requirements
  • Incumbent must be able to demonstrate an ability to work with people of varied backgrounds and myriad objectives, reach consensus on complex issues in a timely manner, and manage other in performing complex, interrelated tasks in an efficient, effective, and timely manner

Desired Qualifications

  • Military work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
  • Previous supervisory experience in chemical demilitarization operations or maintenance
  • Experience in military ordnance or chemical weapons
