Site Operations Manager
Amentum is seeking an experienced Site Operations Manager with extensive experience in people and subcontractor management, specifically with facilities and production maintenance in a fast-paced environment.
Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm; additional hours may be required based on business demand.
Hiring salary range: $100-115k (salary rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data).

The Ops Manager is responsible for the execution of hard and soft services for one or more facilities in the Richmond area, including ensuring the safety and well-being of its employees, safeguarding company and client property, and generally representing the company with respect to the client.
This Ops Manager directs a workforce of maintenance technicians and professionals engaged in a variety of facilities related activities, and ensures established company goals are realized, while maintaining client relations that will enhance future business. The Site Operations Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the contract and will act as the subject matter expert and key point of contact with the client.
In this role, the selected candidate will:
Provide team leadership at the site level utilizing facilities knowledge and experience to administer a comprehensive and effective maintenance program.
Supervise a staff that performs a variety of tasks related to facilities maintenance, safety, and special projects.
Utilize Maximo CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to monitor maintenance related work and evaluate work performance/productivity.
Analyze and troubleshoot complex building utility systems/equipment and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
Daily duties for this role will include:
Operations and Maintenance:
Identify/eliminate inefficiencies, reduce operating/maintenance costs, reduce system failures, and ensure quality workmanship.
Maintain 24x7 operations for areas such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, grounds, elevators, overhead doors, etc.).
Manage and optimize a preventative maintenance program.
Manage multiple subcontractors supporting the operations and maintenance functions.
Develop budgets and manage expenses.
Ensure team has an effective planning and scheduling program in place.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, adhere to maintenance schedules, and achieve annual KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
Good customer relations and client partnering mentality:
Relationship with client must be always maintained at the highest level.
Ensure a sense of urgency for customer requests and addressing issues.
Help develop, manage, and present KPIs.
Team building and strong organizational skills.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Facilitate meetings with a variety of attendees.
Safety Consciousness:
Ensure company and client safety processes and procedures are being met (e.g., lockout/tagout, hot work, etc.)
Provide leadership to ensure an accident-free workplace. Walk the talk.
Ensure appropriate Job Hazard Analysis/Task Hazard Analysis are in place for all work.

Employee Relations:
Hire, terminate, train, and ensure all work activities are completed in a manner that meets or exceeds the client’s expectations.
Effectively administer performance management for employees, including goal setting and feedback. Work with direct reports on performance goals and development plans.
Ensure resolution with conflicts in the workplace and take timely disciplinary action.
Provide mentoring to team members.
Communication Skills:
Demonstrate consistent, effective, and efficient written and oral communication skills.
Communicate frequently and with integrity. Deal with issues promptly and effectively.
Maintain consistent communication with management on key issues, potential client issues, and approach to resolutions.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Facility Management, Industrial Technology or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience or equivalent.
5 years of facility operations/maintenance experience including facility operations/maintenance supervisory experience in a technical field.
Working knowledge of purchasing and/or utilizing and managing subcontracts or vendors.
Experience utilizing CMMS and Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Staff management experience, including disciplinary action, hiring, terminating, and performance appraisals.
Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
Must be willing to work overtime, holidays, various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
ust be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.

Some physical/special requirements include:
Regularly lift to 50 lbs
Regularly climb ladders, steps, and scaffolding
Repetitive motions: bend, stoop, squat, kneel, stretch, reach, wrist movement
Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions
Ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification or formal training from Facility Maintenance Organizations such as IFMA, AFE, SMRP, or BOMA.
Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated environment.
Predictive maintenance experience, including areas such as IR scanning, ultrasonic, vibration and oil analysis, life cycle studies, and root cause analysis.
Working experience with electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC fields.
Experience in contract negotiations.
