Job Summary

Provide general quality assurance support to the Component Refurbishment and Chemical Analysis (CRCA) projects by reviewing the work of technicians, monitoring required parameters and witnessing the performance of processes.

Essential Responsibilities:

1) Monitor various operations such as hydrostat and disassembly operations, decontamination, reassembly and reinstallation of components and particle counts.
2) Monitor flow booth and clean room controls such as temperature, humidity, pressure, cleanliness and particle contamination.
3) Perform hazardous vapor detection and reports out-of-specification conditions.
4) Witness processes performed such as flight hardware, hydraulic functional tests and final leak tests.
5) Verifies cleaning operations and equipment cleanliness in compliance with procedures.
6) Perform NVR determinations, microscopic determinations, particle counts on samples, halogen and dew point tests, analytical instrumentation use and final inspection of components.
7) Perform documentation and reporting of minor discrepancies, daily monitoring and test data.
8) Perform inspections in confined spaces and at elevation as required.

9) Perform duties in compliance with Federal, State, Local, NASA, and other governing regulations, requirements and KSC energy management, conservation regulations, collective bargaining agreement, security, safety, hurricane and specialized programs or contractual requirements relating to the business of the section within the limits of established policy.
10) Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of directly related experience in quality assurance and/or inspection of systems and equipment, preferably in the aerospace field. Previous experience and required skills must include experience in chemical and material processes, sampling processes, testing and measurement techniques, inspection methodology, interpreting engineering drawings, use of specifications and standards and precision measurement equipment. The ability to read, comprehend and follow prescribed procedures is essential.

Must be able to achieve KSC level of proficiency and meet physical requirements in fuel handling, visual/micro-particle counter, confined space and respirator use.

Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. US Citizenship is required for unescorted access to assigned work area(s). Must be able to successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
