Quality Control Evaluator (NTE) -1st
Amentum is currently seeking a Quality Control (QC) Evaluator - 1st Shift at DLA Hill. This position is Not To Exceed (NTE) 28 July 2024. The hourly pay for this position will be $18.31 per hour.
Purpose and Scope:
Establishes and maintains the quality system, including International Organization Standard (ISO) requirements. Performs quality system document control and internal audits to ensure that the quality system is complete and effective. Performs component and shop inspections to assure compliance with specifications, technical instructions and related directives. Develops and implements quality control and weapons safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
1.Perform Quality Verification Inspections (QVIs) on Weapons Maintenance.
2.Perform Post-Load Inspections.
3.Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.
4.Briefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights.
5.Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience.
6.Performs audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities.
7.Monitors timeliness and applicability of aircraft maintenance technical data and technical library.
8.Reviews maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action.
9.Manages the material deficiency and technical order improvement program. Reviews engineering investigation requests. Initiates and reviews quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports and hazardous material reports, ensuring that they are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive.
10.Receives aircraft and explosive mishap reports and studies them for applicability. Oversees aircraft weight and balance program. Conducts safety inspections, training and drills.
11.Maintain a prominent presence at the site of responsibility to ensure quality coverage.
12.Review, develop and create procedures and processes to ensure best practices are being implemented and maintained at sites.
13.Perform Gap analysis to applicable certification (e.g., AS9110).
14.Observe and monitor technical and personnel evaluation, training and qualification actions as necessary to ensure all assigned employees are certified to cover the full spectrum of work center requirements as specified.
15.Train and coach site employees on new policies, procedures and process as implemented and for continuous improvement.
16.Monitor Environment, Health, & Safety (EH&S) activities and ensure that all regulatory, company and customer requirements are complied with.
17.Assist assigned contract with all initiatives for establishing a world class Quality Management System and Safety Management System.
18.Verify Technical Library for revision, updates and distribution of mandatory technical information to all relevant technical staff.
19.Enter inspection and evaluation reports into the appropriate databases as required.
20.Coordinate incident/accident investigations and prepare the required reports.
21.Perform internal and external audits to ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, standards and regulations. Responsible for assisting, supervising and directing a team of site generated auditors to perform and report findings as well as corrective action plans for all departments.
22.Oversee the initiation, requests for, and the follow-up of corrective/preventive actions internal/external audits findings.
23.Provide technical assistance at the request of all personnel and customers as required.
24.May be designated as site’s FOD Manager.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Must be United States citizen.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Excellent attention to detail and experience inputting information into databases.
- Must have excellent communicative skills.
- Ability to perform data extraction and manipulation, analyze data, and generate reports.
- Ability to complete assignments with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Familiar with quality control procedures and the ability to apply/implement them correctly in correct circumstances.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze laws, regulations, and guidelines and apply them in practice.
- Ability to make independent decisions within the scope of position.
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Skill in the use of computers and computer applications and software including proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing and other software applications.
- Ability to produce a high volume of work in a timely manner which is accurate, complete, and of high quality.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
- Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract and will be listed separately.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of radiation. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Position may require travel.
