Overview:
Functions as Lead Instructor for Aviation and Ground Safety courses under the direction of the Aviation Institute Senior Training Manager. Responsible for performing duties as a Safety Instructor, conducting academic instruction and hands-on performance training and evaluations to ensure student proficiency and adherence to academic standards. Responsible for maintaining Individual Gradebook Folders.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

The Safety Instructor shall perform all above duties to include POI technical writing/course development and periodic revisions as necessary. Develop Safety Training Program in accordance with customer guidance. Verify and confirm that all training publications are current and complete. Prepare students through realistic training scenarios. Responsible for providing direct interface and daily status reports as required. Responsible for maintaining Individual Gradebook Folders. Able to perform duties in a culturally sensitive environment and maintain a professional approach, attitude, and appearance at all times. Other duties as assigned and or directed by management. Performs within the broad guidelines of duties and responsibilities with significant choice of methods. Authority to select and implement goals and objectives within the execution of duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma required. Must have been previously qualified as a US Army Aviation Safety Officer (or equivalent). Additional qualifications: Graduate of a Methods of Instruction (MOI) course preferred.

Experience: Experience as Battalion level or higher safety officer required. Experience as Safety Course instructor desired.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Ability Requirements: Knowledge of Army Aviation training concepts, administration, and logistics. Demonstrated past performance and experience as Safety Program Manager. Demonstrated past performance in the development of training plans. Ability to communicate both orally and written. Ability to effectively deal with people in the supervision of staff and team members. Possess a valid drivers’ license. DD214 required for military experience. Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include medical, drug testing, background checks, etc.
