Personnel Security Specialist/Administrator
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Clearance Processor (Security Specialist) within our Personnel Security (PERSEC) Team. The PERSEC teams conduct personnel security processing actions enterprise wide. The PERSEC teams work in concert with Contract Security Officers (CSOs) and Facility Security Officers (FSOs), who together work with our government clients, employees and candidates to obtain or maintain government clearances, classified space and system access as well as provide other essential security services for the Amentum business areas. As a security clearance processor, you will work independently and interdependently within the PERSEC Teams to initiate clearance actions, periodic reinvestigations, crossovers; conducting clearance checks, review and process Security Pre-Screen checks, Visit Authorization Requests, CAC’s, fingerprint processing, answering questions received from applicants, employees, customers, and other duties as assigned.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Initiate security background investigations and processing for different security clearance types/levels (T3, T3R; T5, T5Rs) utilizing the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations
Processing (e-Qips) through DISS and using the Fillable SF86 version for certain Agencies
Initiate processing actions for positions requiring Suitability requirements (National Agency Check (NAC), Tier 1; Background Investigation (BI), Moderate Risk Background Investigation (MBI), High Risk Background Investigation, Moderate Risk Positions of Trust (MRPTs), Position of Public Trust. Process Common Access Cards, Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12 (HSPD-12)
Work closely with Facility Security Officers (FSOs) and other Security Representatives
Coordinate with OPM regarding personnel investigations for completion of clearance processing
Conduct quality control review of investigation packages (Questionnaire for National Security Positions SF86, 85, 85P’s, etc.) to ensure they are complete and accurate prior to submittal
Assist employees/candidates with security paperwork
Process and submit SF4311 for clearance actions
Submit CSR’s, request reciprocity within DISS
Initiate, process and submit Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Packages and Special Access Program (SAP) Packages
Process fingerprints through Secure Web Fingerprint Transmission (SWFT) as applicable
Track and Maintain clearances in DISS
Create and maintain records in the Amentum Security Database of Record (Gateway)
Conduct clearance checks utilizing DISS and Scattered Castles
Review Security Pre-Screen Forms as applicable
Familiarity with PART 147 – Adjudicative Guidelines for Determining Eligibility for Access to Classified Information under TITLE 32 - National Defense. Subtitle A - Department of Defense
Process outgoing visit requests and certifications
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Secret Clearance
Familiarity of DISS and experience processing e-QIP
High School Degree or GED with 2+ years of Personnel Security or Security experience
Required Skills:
Knowledgeable in the use of DISS and e-QIP
Proficiency with software applications such as MS Office, Outlook and Adobe Pro
Excellent interpersonal skills be a self-starter and possess the ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment with a “no fail” mentality
Strong commitment to excellence and continuous improvement
Ability to effectively manage individual workflow
Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to interact positively with all individuals either in-person, over the phone or via teleconferencing applications.
Ability to use discretion when handling sensitive personal information
