Supply Technician

Job Description

The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g. inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually related to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require (a) a good working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines: (b)an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.

Essential Job Functions:

Shall provide logistical support functions. This includes parts and material ordering, parts expediting, maintaining and warehousing operations. Technicians are responsible for all accounting, stocking, issues, transfer and receipt of associated aircraft equipment assigned to the command. Shall order, receive, inspect, stow, preserve, package, ship and issue materials/cargo, account for government materials and full expenditures, prepare and maintain required forms, records, correspondence, reports and files.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of three years’ experience in Navy/Coast Guard Aviation supply or IMRL.
  • Experience must have been gained in the military, Department of Defense (Civilian), or working for a manufacturer supplying military hardware to the U.S. Government.
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of Navy AMMRL/IMRL system and equipment Plant Account Program.
  • Shall be knowledgeable in the Aviation 3M system and IMRL support actions.
  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must qualify for and be able to maintain a secret level clearance.
  • Must be available to work any shift.

Compensation & Benefits

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $36.37 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

  • Strongly recommended and desired to have “C” school in supply or USMC/USCG equivalent.
  • May work in aircraft maintenance hangar or outside.
  • May be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances, including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
  • May be exposed to extreme noise from turbine and jet engine aircraft.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; may be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts, vehicles, or aircraft.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
