Supply Tech Lead

Perform limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. This position performs all functions assigned to Supply Technician within the Retail Supply Branch.

Essential Responsibilities:

Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines to include:

  • Assist customers in processing urgent/exceptional data request.

  • Process other transactions into GCSS-Army.

  • Review and, analyze, research, and input appropriate transactions open or close document history records in GCSS-Army.

  • Process and correct manager referrals, process cancellation request, report excess of supplies of any class to item manager.

  • Verify and make additions, deletions, and changes to the DODAAC (Department of Defense Activity Address Code) file, UIC, Units addresses, and input into GCSS-Army.

  • Process all DODAAC transactions to LOGSA within 8 hrs.

  • Maintain accountable records utilizing the Army Filing System (AFS) and be capable of filing and indexing.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Typical warehouse environment with no unusual hazards, frequent lifting to 20-60 pounds, kneeling, standing, and walking, routinely sitting and constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Must have a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).

  • Must have two years experience in warehouse or supply related experience.

  • Must be able to pass a background Tier 1 level check.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Army Supply Functions.

  • Working knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.

  • Understanding of the needs of the organization serviced.

  • Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application, or interpretation of established guidelines.
