Tool and Part Attendant
Amentum is currently seeking a qualified Tools & Parts Attendant in support of the U.S Naval Air Station maintenance operations at NAS Whidbey Island. The Attendant receives, stores and issues hand tools, machine tools, replacement parts, shop supplies and equipment (such as measuring devices) in an industrial establishment. The Attendant also monitors the conditions of all tools and equipment in a tool room custody and is responsible for accountability of all tool inventories.
Essential Responsibilities:
Maintain records of tools issued to and returned by workers. Receive, accounts for, unpacks and stores new equipment. Attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment, using electric marking tools. Prepare periodic inventory or keeps perpetual inventory and requisitions stock as needed. Monitor condition of all equipment on an ongoing basis. Report loss, damage, or destruction of tooling in accordance with documented procedures. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Work is performed in a shop environment that is moderately lighted, heated, and ventilated, is exposed to disagreeable fumes and to cuts and bruises from using tools in close placed and hazards of moving vehicles such as forklifts and sweepers in shop area. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, and taste or smell. Frequently lift items weighing 15-25 pounds and occasionally more than 45 pounds.

Procedure Compliance - Each employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to his/her job.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and minimum of one (1) year related experience working with U.S. Army combat and tactical equipment preferred.
- Familiarity with wide range of tools and equipment associated with support of tracked and wheeled vehicle maintenance effort.
- Basic knowledge of generally accepted warehousing concepts such as storage layout, locator systems, and proper material handling procedures required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
- Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Position may require travel.
