Overview:

Responsible for Aviation on the job training (OJT) for the Aviation Maintenance Division supporting the aviation battalion. Develops training plans, curriculum, training aids use, training publications and courseware under the direction of the Aviation Maintenance Division Training Supervisor. Directs mechanic trainers and trainer interpreters in the use and standardization of training management systems. Plans and executes training and evaluation of customer maintainers in accordance with the customer requirements and US Army Aviation Training Manuals. Conduct academic and hands-on performance training and administer evaluations to ensure maintainers proficiency and standardization of training. Responsible for maintaining Individual Job Books, Automated Maintainer Training Files (TMS). Directly responsible for all aspects of training record keeping requirements and training reports for the battalion and contractor personnel.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Leads the Battalion Training OTJ efforts and manages the Training Management System (TMS). Schedules classes; Tracks individual progress; Provides accurate and timely status reports; Recommends changes to improve performance and efficiencies of all training programs; Develops and maintains on the job training SOP’s. Assists all trainers and course managers in meeting their program training requirements. Other tasks as directed by Maintenance Division Training Lead. Reports to the Aviation Maintenance Division Training Supervisor. Battalion Training Lead will have a broad range of independence to conduct or develop training program within division management guidance. Supervisory Responsibilities: As required to prioritize and standardize all maintenance battalion trainer activities.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education Level:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:
One (1) year in training management or technical training supervisor.

Specific knowledge, skills, certifications, and abilities:
Graduate of a US Military aviation course or civilian equivalent. Proficient in the use of computer-hosted interactive technical manuals, aircraft maintenance forms, and other aircraft related documentation. Proficient in MS Office software. Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with the customer in a professional and courteous manner. Possess a valid US issued driver’s license and passport. Successfully pass an overseas deployment physical upon hire. Desired/Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience: It is preferred that applicant have experience in aviation maintenance field operations and completed a course of instruction for maintenance instructors at an authorized Aviation Proponent School or civilian equivalent. Associate’s Degree or equivalent training and experience. Experience as a platform instructor. US Army Training Development Capabilities Course. US Army Instructor Trainer Course.
