Overview

Entegris is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer for the San Luis Obispo, CA location. This position will be responsible for design, detailing, and documenting electrical and electro-mechanical systems used in Ultra High Purity (UHP) gas purification systems assembled at our facility.



Responsibilities

  • Design electrical components and assemblies for new and legacy UHP gas purification systems; coordinate with the mechanical, software, and control system designs with other engineering teammates
  • Create concepts to be used in the development of new products
  • Size and select components as required to meet UHP gas purifier system requirements
  • Create solid models, drawings, procedures and other required documents to support development of systems
  • Perform and document mathematical computations and other analysis as required to support product design
  • Work with component suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet design requirements
  • Plan, direct and perform testing of prototypes as needed
  • Direct work and/or mentor junior engineers, designers and drafters (as needed)
  • Assist with high-level concept design projects and department protocol and procedure development


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of relative professional experience
  • Semiconductor industry or experience working for an electromechanical systems manufacturer is highly preferred
  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data
  • Professional experience using a 2D drafting program required (Draftsight preferred); experience using 3D modeling programs (SolidWorks preferred) and electrical design of process or capital equipment preferred
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail oriented and strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Able to work with all levels of employees and management within the organization
  • Comfort and ability to work within ambiguity
