Overview

The Electrical Design Engineer will support the department mission of creating new products through engineering assignments requiring the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position will be responsible for design, detailing, and documenting electrical and electro-mechanical subsystems used in new products supporting semiconductor manufacturing.



Responsibilities

  • Design electrical components and assemblies for new products and systems
  • Coordinate efforts with team members and support prototype development as needed
  • Create concepts to be used in the development of new products
  • Size and select components as required to meet system requirements
  • Create solid models, drawings, procedures, and other required documents to support system development
  • Perform and document mathematical computations and other analysis as required for product design
  • Work with component suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure products meet design requirements
  • Plan, direct and perform testing of prototypes as needed
  • Direct work and/or mentor junior engineers, designers, and drafters as needed
  • Assist with high-level concept design projects and department protocol and procedure development


Qualifications

  • BS Degree in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • 4 years of experience in process or capital equipment electrical design
  • Experience using 3D modeling program (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Experience using 2D drafting program (DraftSight preferred)
  • PLC programming experience (Schneider M251 series preferred)
  • Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing (desirable)
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio)
  • Ability to prioritize workload and self-manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
  • Detail oriented and strong problem solving and decision-making skills
