Overview

The Quality Inspector performs diversified audit, inspection, test, and measurement duties on products and processes to ensure conformance to requirements in the order of SAFE, RIGHT, FAST.



Responsibilities

Safety

Maintains a clean and safe work area. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner that protects self, other employees and equipment from harm or exposure. Follows approved safety rules and procedures. Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor.

Quality Inspection

Accurately inspects manufactured or other process output against documented Entegris specifications per the Product Control Plan, product drawings, inspection procedures and other site quality control documentation. Maintains awareness of customer complaints and internal rejections of the product being inspected. Follows all discrepant material control procedures. Notifies inspection supervisors and process owners of any detected discrepancies. Performs detailed first article inspections and capability studies. Performs cleanroom Environmental Monitoring.

Measurement Equipment

Maintains proper use and care of measurement equipment; ensures equipment calibration is current per the Calibration Schedule before use. Utilizes a variety of measurement tools to accurately perform measurements. Measures product with required equipment as defined on documentation. Sets up or runs current program files on automated equipment when required for part inspection. Troubleshoots and resolves routing measuring instrument issues. Problem solves non-routine equipment interface issues with statistical software program to allow data to be entered into appropriate files. Serves as the technical resource for manufacturing personnel performing self-inspection. Supports calibration activities including collecting metrology tools and communicating with outside vendor to pick-up and drop-off these tools.

Documentation

Maintains current and appropriate inspection documentation in product files. Documents all discrepancies between the product and the written specifications per procedures using SAP Quality Notifications (QNs). Records all inspection results electronically. Follows site containment procedures. Verifies current revision history of documentation prior to use. Communicates verbally to appropriate personnel of undocumented actions being applied to the manufactured product; follows up communication by initiating QN or deviation process. Generates CofA/eCofA accurately and timely. Supports resin movement upon receipt of passing lab results.

Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Creates new statistical software files as needed for data in-put and analysts. Updates current statistical software file information as required. Verifies file is current to appropriate revision levels prior to use. Understands and applies statistical process control techniques, including basic chart interpretation and capability analysis. Performs other duties associated with SPC for the product, such as the notification of process owner of out-of-control conditions and verification of measurement results using the Out-of-Control Tracker work instructions.



Qualifications

Communication

Provides clear and timely information to others. Escalates issues effectively. Communicates with oncoming employees at shift change and describes all pertinent issues.

Dependability

Reports to work as scheduled; works the full shift and follows appropriate break schedule. Works overtime as requested.

Continuous Improvement

Identifies and recommends process improvements to improve product quality and enhance processes. Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities. Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Associates Degree desired. Life Sciences experience desirable but not required. Able to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic production environment. Proficient with MicroSoft Excel and SAP. Able to read and interpret standard blueprints. Skilled using a variety of measurement equipment including calipers, pin gage set, height gage, test indicator, micrometer, pitch micrometer, dial indicator, surface plate, optical comparator, smart scope, cassette verification (CV) and coordinate measuring machine (CMM).
