The Business Operations Specialist serves as Operations Welcome/Retention Specialist and will handle a variety of tasks to ensure the daily operations within the Hawaii Health Plan. The Operations Welcome/Retention Specialist is ak ey supporter to ensure that the HI health plan is compliant with our state welcome calls and identify key opportunities for member retention within the first 90 days of enrollment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Utilize excellent customer service skills
  • Welcome Calls
  • Member retention projects
  • Monitor and provide Administrative Out analysis
  • Onsite Provider/member engagement
  • Develop welcome and retention program
  • Resolving eligibility/demographic discrepancies
  • Focused work during redetermination phase (15+months)
  • Assist on various projects and tasks to improve member satisfaction and retention

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED or 3+ years of work experience in customer service or health related industry
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS/Office (Word and Excel)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 6+ months work experience using excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
  • 6+ months of well-rounded business experience in the healthcare industry
  • Basic understanding of Center for Medicare Services (CMS) Regulations

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects with tight deadlines while paying close attention to the details of all the deliverables
  • Articulate and able to communicate with peers internal and external to the organization
