The Contracting Specialist is accountable for supporting contracting and fee negotiations with providers and facilities. Additional responsibilities data management, include building and nurturing relationships between the health plan, providers, facilities, and practice managers. In this role, you would implement strategic goals relating to network management.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help develop geographically competitive, broad access, stable networks that achieve objectives for unit cost performance and trend management
  • Demonstrate an ability to negotiate/support Terms of Agreement with Providers
  • Evaluate/Analyze/Trend Contracts and Market Performance
  • Quantify data; provide analysis, analytics, and ability to present in visual format such as graphing
  • Understand unit cost budgets, target setting, performance reporting and associated financial models
  • Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them
  • Analyze that network composition includes an appropriate distribution of provider specialties
  • Implement/Execute/Support Market Strategies

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience
  • Hospital contract management experience or public sector business
  • Experience utilizing MS Excel and Word
  • Must live in the Southeast US area

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in network development and provider engagement
  • Behavioral Health experience
  • Salesforce Management and document management

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $54,400 to $97,000. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $60,000 to $106,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
