Primary Responsibilities:

  • Client Delivery:
    • Supports the development of consulting methodologies to address the current challenges facing health systems related to the procurement of clinical products/services
    • Provides Value Analysis consultative support for clients
    • Serves as a clinical leader for Optum Advisory Services’ optimization solution implementations (leads client meetings; defines clinical strategy; recommends best practices initiatives, customizes training and adoption approaches etc.)
    • Leads consulting teams to accurately diagnose the issues the client has identified (as well as underlying issues), and determine the appropriate solutions that will lead the client to achieve best practice performance specific to clinical decision support
    • Helps to build consensus among client stakeholders who play a critical key role in the health system’s ability to successfully implement the identified solutions
    • Communicates effectively and accurately in writing and verbally to prospects, members, and other staff
    • Demonstrates solid relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations
  • Solution / Product Development:
    • Develops and implements Value Analysis practices for new and existing clients
    • Provides subject matter expertise to other Optum business units needing specialized knowledge around clinical products/services
    • Provides vision and focus for development of new solutions
    • Collaborates with internal clinical and operational leadership to enhance select solutions
  • Business Development:
    • Supports Business Development and Marketing efforts, including preparation for and participation in business development meetings, demonstration of products and solutions, and overall go to market strategy
    • Serves as a Clinical/Value Analysis Subject Matter Expert for business development activities

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of clinical and/or consulting experience (Hospital or clinical setting) preferably with significant knowledge of the Value Analysis process
  • Background in and experience with physician and clinical preference products
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Experience leading large-scale projects (engagement management) including leading multiple engagements simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to support solution marketing and business development activities
  • Able and willing to travel approximately 25% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree, MBA or MHA
  • Consulting firm (or related) experience including project management, development and presentation of deliverables
  • Background in inpatient or outpatient care management (e.g., Nursing)
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $134,200 to $257,700. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $134,200 to $257,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
