Key Responsibilities

  • Works with the Head of Statistical Methodology to set the vision and strategy of Statistical Methodology function in support of R&D
  • Collaborates closely with functional heads of Biostatistics TAs and Data Science in developing the technical expertise and capacity in Statistical Methodology
  • Functions as expert statistical advisor on statistical topics influencing and advising senior leadership on issues that have business impact.
  • Provides leadership in the development of innovation statistical methods in the following areas, including but not limited to, innovative clinical trial designs, Bayesian approaches, use of external data/RWE in clinical trials and regulatory submission, quantitative benefit risk analysis, and advanced predictive analytics.
  • Provides leadership in organizing scientific working groups to develop guidance and best practices on statistical methods and analytical approaches to support design and analysis of clinical trials
  • Provides leadership in interaction with external KOLs and in internal statistical community of practice
  • Proactively builds partnerships with key stakeholder functions and global counterparts to maximize knowledge and available resources
  • Contributes to the development of junior (bio-)statisticians and data scientists by providing mentorship and coaching as well as developing training curriculum for the broader organization.
  • Effectively communicates the GBDS Mission and Vision in a fashion that generates pride, excitement and commitment within GBDS.
  • Enables a culture of inclusiveness, respect for diversity, compliance with process and allows for the questioning and challenging of others in a respectful and constructive manner.

  • Provides leadership to empower and develop the team
  • Provides guidance to employee's development plans and carries out performance review and feedback. Develops performance metrics for staff

Qualifications & Experience

  • Ph.D. in Statistics/Biostatistics with at least 12 years of experience
  • Expert knowledge of advanced statistical methods & analytical techniques as demonstrated by track-record of publications and presentations
  • Well recognized by statistical communities at national/international level
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing skills
  • Excellence collaboration leadership abilities
