Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment. Works under on-line and off-line medical control providing basic life support. Provides direct patient care under the supervision of the RN in the Emergency Department or Paramedic.

Responsibilities

  • Supports and assists with the delivery of patient care, under the direction of the RN or Paramedic.
  • Assists with the maintenance and cleaning of patient care and medical equipment.
  • Performs routine equipment function tests and calibrations.
  • Assists with the inventory of supplies and equipment ensuring adequate supply levels.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • No Experience

Supervisor Experience

  • No Experience

Licenses & Certifications

  • Class D (IL) or Class E (MO)
  • EMT - applicable state
