OptumCare, the largest network of medical groups in the nation, is seeking a Part Time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our corporate care team in Waupaca, WI. As a Primary Care Provider, you will be afforded an opportunity to practice whole person primary care without many of the constraints of a traditional community practice. At Optum, we are transforming healthcare nationally while providing dedicated health care delivery locally. Hours for this position are Wednesdays 8:30a-6:30p, Thursdays 7a-7p and Fridays 7a-3p. No weekends or holidays.

Position Highlights

  • Deliver the highest quality primary care services including:
  • Wellness and Preventative Physical Exams
  • Acute care of minor illness and injuries
  • Chronic Disease Management and Longitudinal care
  • Minor procedures (suturing, splinting, incision/drainage, etc.)
  • Lifestyle and well-being counseling
  • Medical management of behavioral health conditions
  • Telemedicine services
  • Provide clinical leadership of worksite staff
  • Work closely with a certified medical assistant

Qualifications - External

Required Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the ANCC/AANP or certified as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA
  • 2+ years of experience working independently
  • Unrestricted DEA license (or willing to obtain prior to start)
  • Must be CPR certified (or willing to obtain prior to start)
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, ambulatory care, family medicine, or internal medicine setting
  • Willing and able to assist at other regional centers
