The Leidos Military & Veterans Health Solutions Group is seeking a Mental Healthcare Coordinator (Outreach Coordinator) to work 40 hours per week on the Navy's Organizational Incident Operational Nexus (ORION) program. The ORION Trauma Tracker is a program for Service members exposed to unit-level, non-combat trauma. ORION is designed to provide comprehensive tracking of psychological trauma exposure and targeted outreach "Caring Contacts" to Service members at elevated risk for psychological injury. This position is eligible to tele-work 1 day a week.
In this new role, Leidos will provide an "ORION Outreach Coordinator" to support a contract with the Naval Center for Combat & Operational Stress Control (NCCOSC) (Psychological Science & Analytics Dept.) in San Diego, CA. Under the M333 Mental Health/Primary Care Directorate of the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery (BUMED), NCCOSC optimizes force psychological readiness through development, aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of best practices and innovations in primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention of psychological illness and injury.
The Mental Healthcare Coordinator will work as an ORION Outreach Coordinator team member to track Service members in ORION who are exposed to unit level, non-combat trauma and conduct Caring Contacts to those Service members. A license for clinical practice is not required as this position does not involve the provision of care. Caring Contacts involve reaching out to Service members over email, checking in with Service members over the phone, and connecting them to mental health resources if desired. ORION Outreach Coordinators need to be comfortable speaking with Service members about their psychological health, be able to quickly build rapport with Service members, communicate with other mental health professionals and follow-up with Service members to confirm connections to care. ORION Outreach Coordinators will offer mental health care options to those Service members who request assistance with connecting to mental healthcare during Caring Contacts. The Outreach Coordinators will act as a liaison for Service members and collaborate with mental health staff at relevant clinics/facilities to coordinate mental healthcare. This position may require Caring Contacts to be conducted during non-business hours in order to complete phone calls to Service members outside of the continental U.S. Caring contacts will be logged in the ORION Carepoint registry, however, the incumbent will not be required to document in a medical record. The ORION Outreach Coordinator will be expected to manage daily operations and administrative activities of the ORION Trauma Tracker program. Additionally, this position may be required to liaise with military Commands and the surrounding military fleet.
Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health or related field from an accredited college or university.
Minimum 2 years of related experience or clinical experience in one or more of the following: psychology, social work, behavioral sciences, nursing, healthcare or public health
Excellent verbal and communication skills.
Good organization and detail-oriented.
Demonstrate ability to work well independently and with a team.
Due to federal contract regulations, US Citizenship is required.
Candidates MUST be able to pass a government background investigation for a Secret clearance.
The position is designated as a drug testing designated position (TDP)
Military experience or work in the military health care field and familiarity with Department of Defense and Military Health System organizations.
Experience working with active duty or reserve Service members, particularly in the field of combat stress and/or psychological health.
Ability to build rapport and comfortable speaking with Service members who were exposed to trauma.
Experience managing data elements including but not limited to, data collection and management.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
