As the Sr Healthcare Economics Consultant, you will perform critical research and investigation of key business problems. You will leverage your solid business skills and translate them into solid technical solutions.

Using phenomenal analytical skills, you will develop and improve quantitative data analytics and set performance targets for the enterprise. As a subject matter expert, you will interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches for its consolidation.
Your analyses and solutions will be used to directly improve the outcomes and quality of care for our Medicare Advantage members.

If you are located in Eden Prairie, MN, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as well as work in the office twice a week as you take on some tough challenges.

Candidates located outside the Eden Prairie area may telecommute* from anywhere in the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work with medical professionals and business analysts to identify and build out metrics to measure quality and cost of care as part of the Optimal Care initiative
  • Develop data queries and extracts necessary for network analytics initiatives
  • Interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches
  • Provide claims, premium, capitation and membership data in support of provider reporting and utilization analyses
  • Create and update automated processes
  • Produce and review reports

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in analytics working with large data sets
  • 2+ years SQL query writing, with advanced level proficiency working with large data sets
  • 2+ years of visualization experience in Tableau
  • Intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Ability and solid interest in learning the intricacies of the business and translating them to technical solutions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in health care analytics working with large data sets
  • 2+ years of experience in Python
  • Medical coding experience
  • Experience with claims data
  • Experience using Python data libraries such as pandas
  • Basic understanding of statistical concepts such as linear regression
