Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide claims, premium, capitation and membership data in support of underwriting, Actuarial and various other departments
  • Identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies
  • Create and update automated processes
  • Analyze reporting tools utilized by the internal customer groups
  • Produce and review reports specific to risk adjustment for various markets

Accountabilities

  • Has a minimal to moderate level of experience, which is often obtained from training or standard work settings. Requires help when performing this competency in non-standard situations
  • Primary role is Developmental to include:
  • Focus is on developing through on-the-job experience
  • Understands and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency
  • Utilizes the full range of reference and resource materials related to this competency

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience working with relational databases
  • 1+ years of health care experience working with claims data and medical codes
  • 1+ years of experience in analytics and working with large data sets

Preferred Qualification:

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in performing data analytics
  • Beginner level proficiency with SQL
  • Intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulae, calculations, charts, and graphs
  • Ability to quickly learn and use computer software tools effectively
  • Ability to learn quickly and produce high-quality work
  • Comfortable in interactions with various levels of management
  • Solid problem solving and analytical skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated to prioritize work on multiple complex assignments

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
