Additional Information About the Role

  • Typical Day Shift - 8 am-4:30 pm
  • Working with individuals diagnosed with mental illness and substance use in need of residential supports and funding which includes residential group homes, supported apartments and independent apartments.
  • Position is located in the downtown STL facility but there is flexibility with individuals being able to work from home, in the community or in the office
  • Must be organized and highly motivated, willing to learn and ask questions, great communication skills and problem-solving abilities, good computer skills and some knowledge of excel; must have a passion for working with individuals with mental illness
  • Job responsibilities - Reviewing housing referrals and completing assessments, approval of housing vouchers/ recertification of funding, establishing relationships with resources in the community, form relationships with property managers and landlords, ensure monthly responsibilities for data bases (rosters/funding spreadsheets) and client documentation, (i.e client files and DMH documents)

BJC Behavioral Health is a community health center that provides and coordinates behavioral health services for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults and seriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St. Fran�ois, Iron and Washington counties. As an Administrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry for people eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and is responsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental health system.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provide a single point of contact for BJC Behavioral Health staff, clients, and community service agencies for all housing resources. The goal of the position is to identify client housing needs and develop/maintain community partnerships to maximize available resources.

Responsibilities

Regularly monitors housing and Supported Community Living Program (SCLP) services to ensure that program roles, objectives and internal and external standards of excellence are met.Increases availability of safe, affordable housing for clients based on best practices.Maintains BJC contracted and operated housing and residential programs and services.Establish and maintain Community Development linkages within the mental health system and across non-mental health service systems by developing partnerships, collaborative relationships, and providing input to strategic planning initiatives.Provides oversight for the development of an infrastructure that enables continuous improvement for service and satisfaction, clinical outcomes and processes, financial viability, and regulatory readiness.
