Role Purpose

The purpose of this position is to provide strategic direction for the development and operations of the BJC Transfer Center. Develops an infrastructure that supports BJC in increasing revenue and market share. Develops and operationalizes a system transfer and bed placement procedures to optimize the capabilities of all BJC HSO?s, creates access to all levels of care, promotes seamless transitions reduces leakage, increases patient volumes across BJC by and placing patients at the right location at the right time. Collaborates with Clinical, Revenue Cycle, Virtual Care and Operations Directors and VPs across the system to ensure patients are receiving care at the appropriate level of acuity, ensuring excellence in patient care and maximizing BJC resources. Collaborates closely with the Director, BJC Clinical Central Staffing Office to ensure adequate staff are available to meet capacity demands.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.Provides strategic direction for the development, management and ongoing operations of a system-wide bed management and transfer teams.Engages BJC VPs, Directors and local EMS providers to design processes and programs that support the efficient, timely and effective transfer and placement of patients. Engages Physicians and Specialists to identify specific acceptance procedures for each HSO. Engages non-BJC hospital leaders in promoting the BJC transfer center as a trusted source to place patients.Collaborates with data analysts and IT leaders to collect, maintain and evaluate data to guide and assess the effectiveness of the transfer center and bed management practices.Collaborates with BJC Strategic Planning, Clinical Programs and Executive Leaders to drive volumes consistent with the BJC Strategic Plan.
