Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the competency validation checklist
  • Receive and review request for radiologic studies
  • Accept patients and assess their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements
  • Identify patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements
  • Operate highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, operating suites and at the patient's bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards
  • Explain and prepare the patient for all radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures
  • Interview patients and review available clinical data from charts to alert nurses and or physicians to possible contradictions for procedure
  • Rely on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and effects of disease processes to position the patient properly and safely for maximum diagnostic yield
  • Maintain radiographic equipment and x-ray room in proper working condition/Report malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel
  • Maintain radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting order for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies
  • Follow the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited two-year program
  • CMRT, ARRT, BLS certifications
  • 6+ months radiology experience with preference in hospital setting, including Surgical C-Arm
  • Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing to inform employees of activities and policies
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease.
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance.
