The Sr. Director, Advisory Services is the overall Medicare product lead across high-complexity, multi-workstream engagements with responsibility to own, coordinate, and harmonize the overall approach.

The Sr. Director serves as the principal point of day-to-day contact with internal product solutions teams, external clients and establishes optimal communication cadence with C-Suite executives. This role ensures enrollment product solutions are implemented and output is synchronous with client expectations. The Sr. Director focuses on practice economics and directs team members to follow the practices needed to ensure both quality and project profitability. The Sr. Director also has responsibility to identify client needs and tailor new business development opportunities both within the practice and across other Optum Insight business segments.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Overall project lead across high-complexity, multi-workstream engagements
  • Diagnose client identified issues (as well as underlying circumstances) and determine the appropriate solutions
  • Build consensus among client stakeholders who play a critical role in the client’s ability to successfully implement the identified solutions
  • Provide status updates and review of deliverables to client senior leadership team and/or project sponsors
  • Accountable for budget and timelines of project deliverables across all workstreams
  • Closely monitors actual vs. expected team utilization
  • Utilize the standardized delivery tools to ensure effective and efficient project outcomes
  • Provide support and subject matter expertise within enrollment operations and coordinating with Optum Consulting and Optum Company business units when enrollment operations expertise is required in dealing with client issues
  • Develop strategic product roadmap and timelines
  • Managed products to a profit-and-loss
  • Provide insight to business analysts and product owners on features
  • Review and acceptance test new product features
  • Contribute to business development efforts and identify opportunities for collaboration with other OptumInsight business segments
  • Develop proposals and statements of work for client specific engagements
  • Participate, support and complete RFI, RFP and sales process
  • Provide timely coaching and mentoring of project team with the goal of developing and retaining talent within the organization
  • Create a team-oriented work climate that enables professional development and encourages creative solutions and strategies
  • Communicate effectively and accurately in writing and verbally to prospects, clients, and other staff
  • Demonstrate excellent relationship management skills and ability to handle challenging interpersonal situations

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Medicaid and Medicare Enrollment expertise as well as project management, change management, developing and presenting deliverables and analytics
  • 8+ years of experience deploying complex health solutions
  • 5+ years developing healthcare solutions and products
  • 5+ years Agile experience
  • 5+ years developing product roadmaps
  • Ability to travel 25-50%

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Graduate level degree obtained in business or Healthcare
  • Experience working in Healthcare
  • Experience mentoring junior level staff
  • Experience managing projects that achieved budget and timeline goals
  • Background in healthcare consulting
  • Possess analytical reasoning and solution-focus problem solving
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $134,200 to $257,700. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $134,200 to $257,700. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
