Primary Responsibilities:
- Assemble and submit state rate filings for approval in the Individual Medical and Medicare Supplement markets
- Meet regulatory/reporting requirements and deadlines
- Understand and interpret key drivers of health care trends
- Conduct and evaluate studies on pricing, utilization and health care costs and manage the development of pricing methodologies and assumptions
- Design and run complex data programs to perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling
- Analyze forecasts and trends and translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences including senior leaders
- Analyze and implement changes that impact the foundational pricing and risk assumptions
- Mentor an elite team of actuaries and help them create unique solutions to complex problems

Our department currently manages profitable products across the United States that contribute to United’s bottom line. In addition to individual pricing support, the team is responsible for profitability, compliance requests, surveys, and much more.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- ASA (Associate of the Society of Actuaries) or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) designation
- Meet AAA requirements to sign health Statements of Actuarial Opinion
- 7+ years of Actuarial experience
- Experience with rate filling
- Experience working in finance or the health care industry

- Actuarial Education Program support negotiable
- Advanced level of proficiency with SAS (Statistical Analysis System)

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
