The Worldwide Medical (WWM) Immunology & Fibrosis (I&F) Market and Launch Excellence Lead is a critical leadership role ensuring and enhancing collaboration and partnership between WW Medical I&F and the regions and countries. This role is also accountable for embedding, managing, and evolving the Launch Excellence capability within WWM I&F to ensure complementary with Enterprise Launch capabilities. The Market Lead is both a liaison and a catalyst, working with WW and the countries to drive alignment and a cohesive focus to deliver globally on our Asset, Disease, and Medical strategies and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for leading and delivering the I&F Launch Excellence capability, ensuring an evolution that remains relevant, efficient, and aligned with other Enterprise initiatives

  • Accountable for ensuring execution against the Launch playbook by working with both the respective markets, the WW Medical Leads, and business partners. This includes onboarding markets, oversite of the process, and adherence to reporting and collating launch KPIs.

  • Leadership role in understanding country launch needs. Distill key risks and opportunities and escalate them to the WW Medical Launch Readiness Forum and the Global Launch Office.

  • Partner with WW business partners, WW Medical, and markets to ensure strategic alignment and delivery of Asset, Disease, and Medical strategies and objectives

  • Establish strong collaborations and networks with WW Medical Leads, Market Leads, and Project Managers to deliver a cohesive, reliable resource in WW Medical for our Market colleagues

  • Provide high-level strategic expertise and connect local teams with the WW Medical team to ensure prompt and tailored support

  • Ensure global considerations and bi-directional communications between WW and markets through appropriate communication forums and channels (e.g. global meetings, trainings, etc.)

  • Interpret WW portfolio outputs for the markets to ensure appropriate understanding of context to drive effective local execution

  • Provide visibility to country and regional leadership on market needs and insights, including how these inform WW Medical Strategies and Evidence Generation plans

  • Key role and leadership partner in shaping, establishing, and embedding, Program Management capabilities across the I&F Medical team, with a focus on Launch readiness

  • Develop and evolve dashboards & scorecards with partnership of Insights and Analytics team, as needed

  • Partner effectively with cross-functional partners such as the Market Medical, Commercial Strat & Ops leads, Field Medical Excellence, and the WW Commercialization leads to develop and maintain a seamless regional/WW interface

  • Escalate WW and local launch or execution issues & risks as appropriate; facilitate resolution/ mitigation

  • Proactively identify and remove markets’ roadblocks by triaging the communication between WW functions and local medical teams

  • Foster both informal and formal cross-functional and geographical collaboration and a sense of belonging

  • Promote a culture of inclusiveness, innovation, constructive challenge, and accountability

Skills/Knowledge Required

  • Demonstrated experience leading functional or project teams in a global environment

  • Advanced scientific and/or business degree preferred (PhD, PharmD, MBA)

  • PMP or comparable experience highly desired

  • 7+ years of experience in Pharmaceutical industry in Medical Affairs

  • Broad knowledge of immunology preferred

  • Global experience working with and understanding of Regional and local market environments

  • Highly organized, analytical, solution-oriented, and resourceful individual possessing excellent communication (written and oral), presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to influence across matrix, emotional intelligence, curiosity, and skills in proactively identifying, building and maintaining key relationships across the enterprise
