Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of the operational excellence community of leaders - a diverse and dynamic team with 20+ years of experience across various industries. Working closely with innovation teams such as digital innovation, data analytics, strategy and key business leaders from across the organization, this role will be highly impactful in deploying operational excellence across BMS to optimize our performance and delivery to our patients.
The Associate Director of OpEx leads and collaborates with sites, functions and the greater OpEx network on developing and implementing strategies. This position will lead the execution of strategic and operational excellence priorities across GPS (Global Product Development and Supply).
Key Responsibilities:
CI portfolio management: define, govern, and execute quantifiable value capture
Capture, Share, and Implement best practices in alignment with strategic objectives
Apply lean and six sigma tools to consistently improve performance, link results to ideal behaviors, reduce waste, improve quality, and drive productivity across GPS sites and functions while evolving culture of continuous improvement
Building, maintaining, and leveraging relationships across the matrix to identify opportunities for process improvement and facilitate the implementation of measurement and management systems
Coaching / mentoring of stakeholders, team members and GPS employees at all levels to support them through the adoption of lean principles and practices and build organizational capabilities.
Professional experience and qualifications:
Scientific or Engineering Bachelor’s degree required
Lean or Six Sigma experience (Black belt required, Master Black Belt preferred) certification level required.
10 + years’ experience in a high tech/manufacturing environment (Pharmaceutical/Med Device Industry experience preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Operations / Operational Excellence roles applying “lean” and six sigma principles
Practical experience in design and deployment of OpEx Operating systems
Data analytics experience including development of key system KPIs and KBIs and employment of data mining processes and procedures is preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in managing portfolio of projects and in leading change through others to achieve operational excellence
Track record of success in the rigorous planning, execution and timely delivery of enterprise level projects and programs
Demonstrated experience in solving complex problems in manufacturing and business processes. Proven innovation & opportunity identification translated to tangible initiatives and successful value capture
Builds relationships, able to negotiate & influence, and manage change in a global matrix environment
Demonstrated proficiency and passion for lean methodology, tools, and manufacturing process improvement
Exceptional skills in leadership, coaching, analytical problem solving and strong business acumen
Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Up to ~50% travel (domestic and International)
