Reliant Medical Group is seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic, and professional Medical Assistant to join our Eye Services team. This is full-time Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week position. This position requires the ability to travel to a variety of Reliant Medical Group sites.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Prepares treatment rooms
  • Performs a variety of clinical functions and tests such as review of systems, preliminary vision evaluation, and pupil assessment with education and evidence of competency, etc., following standard procedures
  • Verifies patient medications, perform medication reconciliation, and pending refills
  • Monitor and maintain patient flow and access
  • Performs related duties to facilitate the efficient utilization of computer-based information
  • Performs a variety of clerical functions to support the office

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of medical assistant school/program
  • Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) or completed within 90 days of date of hire for positions in direct patient care areas
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination, and boosters when applicable, prior to employment to ensure compliance. Candidates must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ophthalmology experience
  • Knowledge of office and laboratory procedures
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Knowledge of a variety of software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirement:

  • Physical health sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
