Positions in this function assist in the care of the patient by following through on Provider orders for treatments. Individuals may be responsible for taking the patients vital signs, conducting blood draws or take x-rays as certified. Individuals in this function typically have certification or are working towards their certification as a Medical Assistant or.... May also be responsible for overseeing and participating in day to day clinical care of patients. Employees are involved in direct patient care (in a clinic, in-home care, etc.)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile
  • Sends patient records to primary care physician
  • Takes vital signs, draw blood and assists providers with patient care
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients and documents patient encounters in Epic
  • Prepares and tracks specimens sent to lab
  • Restocks and maintains inventory of exam rooms, lab and storage room.
  • Places outgoing phone calls to patients for follow up care and handles incoming phone calls from patients.
  • Clean instruments and autoclave them.
  • Assists with other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • Customer service experience and solid computer skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule. Open 5 days a week , candidate would have 2 days off

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree or some college coursework completed
  • Epic experience
  • Medical office experience; experience
  • Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans

New York Residents Only: The hourly range for New York residents is $16.00 to $23.13 per hour.
