The OB Hospitalist Team at Progress West Hospital in O'Fallon, MO, is adding an OB Hospitalist to their established team.
Position Details:
- PRN Position for OB Hospitalist Shifts
- 12 or 24 Hour Shifts
- Physician must remain on the Progress West Hospital campus for the entire shift
- This role will evaluate patients who come into triage, assist in C-Section deliveries, perform procedures, and be available to respond to emergencies for laboring and postpartum pateints
- The private OB providers manage care of their own patients and will perform their own deliveries
Additional Preferred Requirements
- Hold an active Missouri Medical License
- BC in Ob/Gyn
Overview
Opened in 2007, Progress West Hospital is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care.
Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks.
Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics.
OB Physicians support the Womens Services area by providing house doctor responsibilities. This area, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices.

Role Purpose
Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
Manages the medical care of assigned patients.Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.Minimum Requirements
