You’ll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • For all customer cloud hosted services and the operation of these environments including the operating environment, software and security
  • Ensure best practices and controls in place to monitor SLAs of the environments
  • Participate and help define customers specific Infrastructure and application SLA’s and ensure proper audits in place to report actual metrics
  • Ensure proper monitors and alerts are configured that actively keep uptime high, and production incidents low. Develop mechanisms for monitoring and reporting on IT controls compliance
  • Partner with OptumConnect cloud migration teams to strategize how to effectively and efficiently perform on premise to cloud migrations within the guardrails set by the Devops Engineering Team
  • Partner with product managers/product owners to prioritize work to meet obligations and opportunities
  • Support escalations for multiple infrastructure technologies
  • Ensure proper hand-off with full documentation/knowledge-transfer occurs (post project delivery, post-releases) into Operations team(s)
  • Establishes operational standards, roadmap, and delivery of infrastructure automation aimed at reducing manual work (provisioning, monitoring/alerting, etc.)
  • Provide vision and leadership toward establishing world-class service-delivery model that promotes continuous quality improvement
  • Grow and develop team-members (including ownership of tech talent pipeline and succession planning)
  • Hands-on leadership over staff by establishing group and individual staff goals, balancing priorities and work assignments to ensure project delivery (against agreed upon plan and KPIs/service levels) are met and completed successfully
  • Ensures that appropriate capabilities exist to continuously improve delivery of technologies, and monitoring of infrastructure & systems to identify utilization and performance issues

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years enterprise infrastructure experience with a understanding of Compute, Storage, IAM, Networking, Virtualization, and Cloud principals
  • 3+ years of experience with monitoring and alert tools
  • 2+ years' experience leading operational teams
  • Familiar with ticketing tools in order to track down incidents and break fix request (ServiceNow)
  • Ability to partner with product managers/owners to prioritize work to meet obligations and opportunities
  • Participate in operational activities especially in war rooms(P1/P2) incidents and be the technical advisor
  • Perform troubleshooting of issues causing unavailability of infrastructure and identifying RCA
  • Plan and support regular system upgrade, maintenance
  • Effectively balances needs of operations and technical teams, can articulate to partners an understanding of core technology enabling business functions
  • Builds relationships to be a trusted partner, attends trainings to further advance knowledge, able to operate in an ambiguous and dynamic environment, Adopts growth mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years working in public cloud environments, a plus private or hybrid cloud environments
  • Exposure in deploying and managing Azure environments
  • Understand overall product strategy, roadmap, Understand the demand
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Solid research and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret IaC services and coding
  • Proven experience in leading and managing complex enterprise infrastructure & applications operations
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
  • Proven experience is successfully delivering infrastructure to support demanding business project timelines and quality standards
  • Firm understanding of computer security technologies and policy, and internal/external audit controls compliance
  • Well versed with ITIL concepts, able to drive/implement organizational change and problem management enhancements
  • Experience managing a production AWS environment is an added advantage
  • Healthcare IT experience
  • Background in Azure monitoring, alerting, and diagnostics, including Application Insights, Log Analytics, Network Monitoring, Service Health, and dashboards
  • Experience working in Windows/Unix/Linux environments

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
