Position Summary

IT CORE Services provides critical IT services to the entire BMS Enterprise, including Cybersecurity, Access, Networking, Hosting, Support Services, Tech Adoption and Productivity services to name a few. This role is in the Technical Solutions team in IT CORE Services. Technical Solutions is a team of BMS employees along with approximately 150+ managed service provider resources delivered through HCL, Cognizant and Accenture. Technical Solutions is an integral part of the complete lifecycle of hosting and application management – from creation to retirement.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all pertinent stakeholders to understand technical requirements to deploy appropriate solutions based on BMS IT strategy.

  • Manage early career and offshore team members.

  • Help execute BMS Hosting Strategy, including Application Rationalization & Application Refactoring to the Cloud.

  • Work with Functional IT Digital Capability Managers and other teams to understand their requirements and create appropriate technical solutions in concert with HCL, Cognizant and Accenture. Solutions require a global perspective and often enable a 24 x 7 x 365 operation.

  • Provide architectural design for delivery of new capabilities in Cloud with a focus on DevOps. Scale up the optimization and management capabilities in Cloud as full stack deployments increase.

  • Support virtual teams across multiple service provider organizations regarding the processes around application modernization and transformation to DevOps, hosting architecture, solutioning, implementation and support.

  • Serve as escalation point for project issues and operational incidents (on a 24 x 7 x 365 calendar).

  • Ensure applications have an appropriate build and run support model, including monitoring and escalation processes.

  • Provide input to the hosting aspects of the Project and Portfolio Management and Run Demand initiatives. Assist in adjusting the infrastructure hosting estimation tool on an annual basis. Answer client questions around hosting cost estimates. Work with Finance and IT Provider Governance teams to correlate project spend to project allocations.

  • Support tech debt management by working closely with the application retirement and archive teams to decommission infrastructure associated with retiring applications.

  • Participate in Cybersecurity Security Risk Assessments and remediation activities.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent professional experience.

  • 5+ years overall IT experience.

  • Experience in leading technical teams delivering complex programs on a global basis.

  • Experience with implementing and supporting Cloud based solutions in Amazon Web Services. AWS Solutions Architect Certification is a plus.

  • Exposure to multi-cloud environments is a plus (Azure & Google Cloud).

  • Familiarity with the support of web middleware technologies.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a matrixed environment and to influence adoption of new thinking and technology.

  • Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action.

  • Strong learning agility.

  • Creative thinking balanced with a pragmatic approach.

  • Exhibit a positive work approach, with high productivity and a collaborative spirit.

  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, and attention to detail.

  • Experienced in working with managed service providers.

  • Ability to apply technical solutions to business processes.
