Hospice, the final stage of BJC's continuum of care, is a special kind of caring for patients with a life-limiting illness. Services are provided in the comfort of the patient's home or skilled nursing facility. The Hospice staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in symptom management, pain control, counseling and bereavement services for the dying. Our Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy. Our Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Role Purpose

Administers, sets standards for and manages patient care services provided by the Manager, Hospice Missouri or Illinois within the parameters of approved budgets and strategic plans for all Missouri or Illinois offices/sites.

Responsibilities

• Manages and sets standards for all hospice patient care services provided by the team.
• Ensures the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
• Provides leadership and direction to the hospice staff and operations.
• Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
• Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree

Experience

• 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience

• 2-5 years

Licenses & Certifications

• CPR/AED
• RN

Preferred Requirements

Education

• Master's Degree
