Overview

The Neurodiagnostic Lab compliments Barnes-Jewish Hospital's Neuroscience division. Our Epilepsy Monitoring Unit is a Level IV Epilepsy Center, utilizing state of the art video monitoring equipment with a dedicated staff of Neurologists and Neurodiagnostic technologists.


Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Responsible for the overall planning, directing, and management of all technical, clinical, financial, strategic, and administrative aspects of the academic Neurodiagnostic Services department. Provides ongoing coordination with other academic HSO departments, outside HSO’s, WUSM and referring physicians. Academic HSO’s include the following services: long term video EEG set up & monitoring, electrocorticography, cortical stimulation mapping, routine and/or intra-operative somatosensory evoked potentials, and intra-operative EEG monitoring with/without robotics/navigation.

Responsibilities

Responsible for department operations to include, but not limited to: hires, terminates, trains, assigns work, manages and evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of department meet/support the overall operational and budgetary goals of the department and HSO as established by service line leadership.Ensures and manages to suitable staffing volume and operational performance to meet established goals. Responsible for revenue cycle activities to meet budgetary expectations. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget and/or operational goals.Directs the delivery of safe and appropriate clinical and surgical neurodiagnostic testing in a safe, clean environment, through adherence to all internal and external policies in accordance with local, federal, and regulatory guidelines.Responsible for the development of the annual budget, departmental strategic planning, strategic and replacement capital, and ongoing operational efficiency. Serves as primary liaison for WUSM clinical research involving Neurodiagnostic EEG space, procedures, and operations.Ensures, through direction and coordination of departmental activities, the goals and strategies of the strategic plans are developed, prioritized, and implemented in collaboration with the WUSM Medical Director / Business Managers, and hospital leadership.
