Overview

The Human Resources Organizational Effectiveness Department supports Barnes-Jewish Hospital employees and management by promoting sound employee relations practices and providing organizational growth and development. The group is responsible for ensuring the fair and equitable treatment of all employees according to applicable federal and state law. The Human Resources Organizational Effectiveness department is also responsible for supporting the organizational areas of Safety, Quality, Exceptional Care, Service, People, Financial Health and Innovation. Services provided include proactive employee relations support, strategic partnering with business clients, defining and interpreting human resources policies and procedures, benefits enrollment and processing, training and organizational development, investigations of unfair treatment allegations, union avoidance strategies, employee appeal procedures, and job eliminations and consolidations.

Role Purpose

Strategic Human Resource leader responsible for leading all aspects of Human Capital management. The incumbent will develop a thorough understanding of the business challenges and related human capital needs of the organization. Serves as an expert in the areas of talent management, organization effectiveness, employee relations, compensation and benefits, process improvement, talent acquisition, and human resource information systems.

Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.Utilizes strong interpersonal skills and abilities to effectively interact with employees and leaders at all organizational levels.Monitors and analyzes various human resource metrics and provides proactive consultation to address potential business issues.Strategically partners with senior leadership to manage complex business issues including legal/employee relations, regulatory compliance, compensation/benefits, organizational development/effectiveness matters, and talent acquisition.Effectively serves as a change leader or champion.Manages large projects impacting the enterprise/multiple business units.
