    Role Details

    • Four 10-hour shifts per week, 12-hour shifts available for experienced nurses (2 years of experience)
    • Day Shift Hours: 6:30a to 5:00p or 7:00p
    • Off-Shift Hours: 9:00a to 9:30or 10:30a
    • Night Shift Hours: 6:30p to 7:00a, 9:30p or 1:30a
    • Call: Five to Seven 12-hour call shifts each 6-week schedule period, self-scheduled
    • Holidays: One 8-hour shift per year, rotate Winter/Spring
    • Weekends: n/a
    • Graduate Nurse Eligibility: Yes

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Under the direction of manager, plans, directs, and coordinates activities of a unit on a designated shift. Performs direct patient care as needed and functions as clinical resource to nursing and support staff. Assesses, plans, evaluates and documents the nursing process of assigned unit as needed.

Responsibilities

Participates in professional developmentPromotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.Develops and implements individual plans of care in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care.Provides unit leadership for defined period of time using critical thinking assessment and evaluation skills.Evaluate patients response and modifies plan of care accordingly throughout the patients' stay.
