Christian Hospital is a full-service acute care community hospital located on 28 acres in north St. Louis County. Christian Hospital is noted for its excellence in heart services and lifesaving cardiothoracic surgery, emergency medicine, breast health services, orthopedic/spine surgery, hyperbaric wound care, pain management, vascular surgery, endocrinology, gastrointestinal care, stroke care, nephrology, therapy, radiology, urology, pulmonary care and treating sleep disorders.
Northwest HealthCare, located six miles west of Christian Hospital, provides the community 24-hour emergency care, with Washington University Physicians and St. Louis Children’s Hospital providing pediatric services. Northwest HealthCare is also home to the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of full-service outpatient diagnostic and imaging services in a convenient setting.
The 5th floor is the adult medical unit with a 55 bed capability. Patients admitted to the 5th floor are acutely ill patients with medical problems whose primary reasons for admission include but are not limited to Diabetes Mellitus, Renal Failure, GI Bleed, Sepsis and Pulmonary Disease. We serve a wide variety of adult and geriatric patients on the medical unit.

Role Purpose
Provides direct patient care activities including IV management, utilizing the nursing process, under the supervision of the RN.
Responsibilities
Implements treatments and procedures within the scope of practice for the Licensed Practical Nurse.Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in professional development and life long learning.Performs patient assessment and evaluation with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs.Assists in developing and updating the plan of care with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs.Implements plan of care with regard to the patient‘s age and developmental needs.Minimum Requirements
