Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet all external and internal customers in a courteous manner. Use proper telephone etiquette. Maintain a positive attitude in the work environment at all times
  • Answers phone and takes messages or routes incoming calls as per phone script and SMA policy. Documents all calls and messages appropriately according to SMA policy
  • Ensure Imaging referrals are met in a timely manner, which includes right fax, reviewing, monitoring, and protocoling, scheduling, completing all referrals including non-compliant and verify demographics including insurance information are correct in IDX and Updates as necessary
  • When assigned notifies ordering providers by tasking or fax of all Stats and positive exam findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) and all pertinent systems
  • Process incoming films/CD’s and returns. Utilize computer system to track location of film/CD files and documentation. Process release forms and prepare for Loan out. Ensure that all released have a finalized report. Print hard copy digital images and burn CD of digital images for patients or requesting facility. Assist with file room duties as assigned
  • Ensures request for outside images are processed and followed up on in a timely manner
  • Mail out imaging results to providers
  • Resolve routine to moderately complex questions and problems, and refer more complex issues to supervisor
  • Assists co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas as needed. Maintain and monitor Imaging Department linen, supply and business costs
  • Assists co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas and locations
  • Rotates within Imaging Departments to include satellite offices, as needed, reliable transportation is required
  • Assists co-workers and team members with duties when requested, to include but not limited to, floating to other areas occasionally deliver and pick up files as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent experience
  • CPR certification obtained within 30 days of hire. Will comply with annual mandatory Fit Testing as a job requirement
  • 1+ years of experience in a healthcare environment setting or one-year office experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of what customer service is and how to maintain it in the clinic setting
  • Understanding of insurance programs and basic manage care principals such as referrals
  • Good computer skills - willing to learn and use several applications
  • Good organizational and telephone etiquette skills
  • Ability to meet all health requirements prior to employment and periodically thereafter, as required by company policy/state regulations to verify that he/she is free from communicable disease and physically able to perform assigned duties
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential job function of this role. Candidates located in states that mandate COVID-19 booster doses must also comply with those state requirements. Preferred Qualifications:

  • MA (Graduate of an accredited MA school or 3+ years of experience in the military as a Medical Assistant)
  • Understand all aspects of the patient visit from open to close
  • Medical terminology, basic knowledge of PACS systems
  • Working Conditions: High volume patient care atmosphere, prolonged standing & walking. Large volume of telephone calls, some driving may be required
  • Ability to resolve patient issues and problems in a positive manner
  • Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, along with the ability to effectively interact with physicians, patients and other healthcare staff members

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.00 to $25.77.
