Primary Responsibilities:

  • Retrieving previous medical records on all established and new patients for upcoming appointments (from all PCP, hospitals in state and/or out of state)
  • Getting all testing ordered for all recheck and new patient appointments (lab results from all lab facilities, radiology from all facilities)
  • Electronically get hospital records for all hospital f/u appointments for new patients, as well as all post op appointments. This is generally from 15+ local hospitals. Excluding hospitals that are not online accessible.
  • Call patients to verify if testing is done, if not we cancel appointments or reschedule appointments
  • File ALL records received into patient’s charts
  • Verifying that all appointments are scheduled correctly
  • Scan insurance cards, making sure that all paperwork is filled out correctly and signed
  • Collect co-pays and co-insurance, deductibles and balances
  • Scan receipts and patient paperwork
  • Keep front office and waiting room clean and stocked
  • Print schedules for medical assistants and physicians
  • Balance daily logs and money collected, posting payments when balanced
  • Coordinate patient check out process
  • Confirm all FFS eligibility for all locations and update eligibility form in EHR
  • Issue referrals for outside specialties
  • Obtain authorization for all office procedures and radiology if needed
  • Answer phone calls from 3 phone queues (scheduling, high priority and overflow)
  • Intake all demographic information for new patients
  • Update demographic information for existing patients
  • Collect insurance information
  • Route calls throughout the office to appropriate department
  • Coordinator intake consultation requests from physicians for on call physician
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years medical front office experience
  • Knowledge of Nevada health insurance
  • Cash handling experience
  • Computer proficiency
  • Full COVID-19 vaccination is an essential requirement of this role. UnitedHealth Group will adhere to all federal, state and local regulations as well as all client requirements and will obtain necessary proof of vaccination prior to employment to ensure compliance

Preferred Qualification:

  • Bilingual English and Spanish

Nevada Residents Only: The hourly range for Nevada residents is $16.00 to $25.77.
