The Pediatric Dental Assistant provides the Pediatric Dentist with assistance in the delivery of dental care and service in order to achieve the best possible treatment for the patient.

  • The specialty dental assistant must be proficient with pediatric or general assisting (pediatric experience preferred).
  • Perform all dental procedures permitted consistent with the applicable state laws and regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment and materials for all dental procedures, while maintaining a good report with children and parents.
  • Proficient with Prophy, SDF, Sealants, matrix band placement, topical anesthesia and protective restorations.
  • Assist with hospital cases including management of patients, anesthesia preparation, assisting and medical emergencies.

Job Qualifications

Sealant certificate required or willing to obtain.

Oregon

  • Oregon Dental Radiologic Proficiency certificate, required or willing to obtain.
  • Oregon EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) certificate, required or willing to obtain.
  • Flexibility to travel to other WDG locations within a reasonable range as described in our Travel Policy as needed based on business need.
