RFP Quality Assurance Writer/Editor - US Remote

The RFP Quality Assurance Writer/Editor will provide writing support and copy editing on proposal responses and proposal related documents to ensure final proposal submission is in accordance with Community & State proposal development standards and stylistic guidelines. The Writer/Editor will work in collaboration with the Associate Director of Writing Sustainability to contribute to the development of formats and guidelines to ensure final product reflects organizational quality and branding.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with the creation of Proposal Quality Management P&P and quality and editing standards for the Proposal Development team
- Manage department editing tools and resources (e.g., Style Guide, Term sheet) and proofreading/editing software, regularly identifying opportunities for improvement and advancing those enhancements to enhance the value, impact, and ease of adoption of resources
- Conduct a (or multiple) complete end to end review prior to each draft release date. Consider all elements of the proposal documents, including financial responses, network analysis, attachments, executive summary/cover letters, and any other supporting documentation
- Edit according to C&S proposal development standards, AP style, organizational quality, branding, voice, flow, and strategy.
- Ensure all policy preferences have been applied and updated prior to release of draft
- Participate in ongoing continuous improvement of the Community & State proposal development process
- Participate as a proposal writer when necessary and take on response assignments
- Prioritize multiple projects and manage supplemental material required for proposals
- Complete work according to deadlines provided by proposal leadership
- Assist in departmental projects as assigned
- Conduct other business development and writing quality assurance duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, Health Systems Administration or related discipline
- 3+ years of proposal writing or editing experience
- Demonstrated solid project management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Experience working in a matrixed environment
- Advanced knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Stylebook
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare insurance experience
- Managed care/Medicaid experience
- MS SharePoint proficiency
- Solid interviewing skills

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
