Job Summary

Amentum is looking to hire a Human Factors Specialist.

Purpose and Scope:

Provides analysis expertise in support of a wide range of transportation and logistics related operations research efforts. Generally serves as a member of an analysis team on more complex assignments or as a Task Leader on less complex assignments under the guidance of a Team Leader.

Essential Responsibilities:

1.Analyze and research material to gain a thorough technical understanding of a complex subject area supporting a task assignment. Task assignment may include one or more of the following analysis: strategic planning and analysis; demand and capacity analysis; economic analysis; regulatory analysis; safety and risk analysis; system operation performance analysis; and information analysis.

2.Prepare oral presentations and written reports to management, indicating solution or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.


Minimum Requirements

Master's degree (or equivalent) preferably in a discipline such as: Operations Research, Economics, Logistics, Statistics, Human Factors, Civil or Industrial Engineering. A minimum of 10 years transportation ORA experience. Must posses in-depth expertise in the analysis of complex multi-element systems and problems involved in one or more of the following areas: knowledge of state of the art tools in organizational development and enterprise analyses; transportation planning; economics; demand; policy and regulatory analysis; human factors analysis for aviation; maritime, and ground system operators and support crews; statistical analysis of safety data and risk assessment; use of large scale statistical programs such as SAS; design; development; and implementation of expert systems; and a familiarity with the programming languages used in expert system development. Good oral and written communication skills; working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications; organizational skills and ability to perform detail-oriented work are required. Position may require travel. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Must have experience mapping functional requirements to design requirements and developing human factors requirements, experience using DOORS.

Preferred Qualifications

A background in Instrumentation and Control Systems. Working in a highly regulated field like the Department of Energy or Aeronautics.
