Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist. This position will be located at our Rumford, RI facility.

This position assists the Human Resources Manager in administering plans and programs to ensure the most effective utilization of human resources to support the site and the Aerospace goals and objectives.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

• Assist the HR Manager in the administration and implementation of all phases in human resources including but not limited to: employment, compensation, benefits, EEO/AAP, labor relations, training, and worker’s compensation.

• Maintain personnel files by filing documents – personnel, medical, or other files.

• Arrange and oversee final employment or transfer processing, including arranging background checks and drug testing, reviewing, and verifying information, extending employment offers. Handle correspondence related to staffing including offer letters, rejection letters, etc.

• Manage the disability claim process, including the application of FMLA and the STD program. Coordinate each case with Sedgwick and works with employees to facilitate positive employee relations and expedite return to full-duty work.

• Manage the service recognition program, coordinating recognition for service milestones.

• Coordinate annual employee survey in conjunction with HR Manager; work with managers to develop action plans and monitor action plan completion.

• Write and maintain job descriptions.

• Assist in recruiting for regular and temporary employees.

• Maintain open employee requisition log and applicant tracking process.

• Process employment information for all associates for the personnel file and the HRMS. Perform HRMS data entry related to salaried and hourly employee record keeping, i.e. personal and employment information, pay information, performance reviews, corrective actions, training, leaves of absence, etc.

• Develop and implement new hire orientation, recruiting, and exit interview programs.

• Provide employment verifications.

• Assist in responding to day-to-day employee relations issues.

• Drive Eaton Philosophy Work Practices across division headquarters.

• Partner with rest of HR organization to implement standardized global HR processes.

• Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local labor laws.

• Coordinate with payroll on all new hires, transfers, terminations, vacation accruals, and all other financial liabilities.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

• Minimum of one (1) year Human Resources experience.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.

• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Rumford, RI will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of three (3) years Human Resources experience.

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

• Previous experience supporting a union represented environment.

Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal skills including use of tact, judgment, and influencing.

• Proven ability in counseling/advising in various employment-related matters.

• Must be able to handle confidential information with discretion.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, Power Point, Outlook required; prior experience managing a HRIS, Oracle preferred.
